Here are 11 reasons to join Kiwanis —one of Stratford's most active service clubs…

Kiwanians are just like yourself.

They're your friends and neighbours. They're interested in all that goes on in and around Stratford. The community matters to them. They believe in service. They care about children. They are volunteers who want to make a difference.

Joining Kiwanis does more than make you feel good.

Study after study shows that volunteering with an organization such as Kiwanis enhances social networking, improves mental health, and contributes to higher levels of happiness, self esteem, self worth and life satisfaction. Volunteers develop life skills and leadership abilities that can lead to employment opportunities.

Making a difference.

We are passionate about making a difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do…We believe our neighbourhood and world are best served when people of all ages and backgrounds work together to share their time and talents.

Serving children of the world

Ready to help children and families in our community? Ready to change the world? Then Kiwanis is ready for you. More than 600,000 Kiwanians in 700 clubs and more than 80 countries are serving children and changing lives. Kiwanis hosts nearly 150,000 service projects each year, from building playgrounds to mentoring teens and sponsoring youth sports. Kiwanians have embarked to global campaigns to eliminate iodine deficiency and wipe out neonatal tetanus.

Kiwanis acts as a safety net

Kiwanis clubs serve as a safety net that creates opportunities for children that might otherwise be denied owing to cutbacks in budgets and school funding.

Kids need Kiwanis … and Kiwanis needs You!

You may be just the person who could make a difference in the lives of these young people by starting K-Kids or Bringing Up Grades (BUG) programs in our elementary schools. K-Kids pick up valuable leadership skills by planning and participating in service projects. Bringing Up Grades recognizes elementary school students who raise their grades, then maintain or improve them.

Or, help start a Builder's Club

You might choose instead to make a difference in the lives of middle and junior high school students by helping them acquire leadership skills through service in a Builder's Club.

Key Club International and Circle K International

Key Club International is the oldest and largest service leadership organization for teens and teaches leadership through service to others. Circle K International is the largest university service leadership organization in the world, performing half a million hours of service each year. You may possess the training and experience needed to make a difference in the lives of teenagers or university students by starting one or more Key Clubs, or a Circle K Club here in Stratford.

Stratford Kiwanis Aktion Club

Kiwanis Aktion Clubs are the only service clubs where adults living with disabilities can learn leadership skills by participating in a variety of service projects. You may be just the person to make a difference in the lives of all those who take part in a very active Stratford Kiwanis Aktion Club.
